Dance Class Uniform List


Dance attire, including ballet and other dance shoes, and tights should be purchased through a dance supply store.  Make sure you are aware of students' slipper/shoe size for particular brand when ordering.

**Please DO NOT PURCHASE dance attire at Target, Payless, Academy, or other such discount stores.**

All girls are required to have their hair away from their face for all dance classes. 

In all ballet classes hair must be in a bun. 

Toddler and Pre-Primary Ballet Classes

  • One piece petal sleeve ballet dress with attached skirt
  • Pink satin full sole ballet slippers and thin white socks

Primary Ballet Classes

  • White petal sleeve ballet dress with attached skirt
  • Pink ballet slippers and thin white socks

Ballet classes Level I & Higher

  • Solid black camisole leotard
  • Pink ballet slippers with pink ballet tights

 Optional:

  • Pink leg warmers to match tights
  • Black knit sweater or shrug      
  • Solid black knit warm up shorts

Boys Ballet

  • White or black solid, close fitting, knit shirt
  • Beginners: Black Jazz pants with white socks
  • Advanced: Black dance tights or black dance shorts
  • Black ballet slippers

Pre-Primary and Primary Tap/Jazz Classes

  • Pink or white petal sleeve ballet dress with attached skirt
  • Black tap shoes with elastic tap ties
  • Black jazz shoes with thin white socks

Elementary level and higher Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary Classes

  • Artisan t-shirt (white or black) or black camisole leotard
  • Black Jazz pants
  • Black tap shoes for tap
  • Tan jazz shoes for jazz, contemporary, and Hip-Hop

 

Flamenco Classes

  • Black camisole leotard
  • Flamenco skirt
  • Castanets required for intermediate and advanced classes
  • Flamenco shoes (black heeled character shoes acceptable)

Please note that NO designs or stripes are permitted on any of the dress attire.  It is important that the students follow the dress code for all dance classes.  Students may be excused from class at instructor's discretion if dress code is not followed.  Please contact the studio if  you have and questions or concerns.

Established in 1996 by Artistic Director Martha Brem, Artisan School of Dance Studio is based in Northwest Houston servicing Cypress, Tomball, & Spring, specializing in Classical Ballet.  We house Artisan Ballet Company, which performs two full-length classical ballet programs a year, including The Nutcracker each holiday season. Artisan School of Dance seeks to entertain, educate, and enrich the cultural growth of the Northwest Houston area through their quality of dance. Artisan School of Dance approved for Off-Campus PE Credit in Dance for the Tomball, Cy-Fair, Spring, & Klein Independent School Districts.
